WSRC welcomes ForwardWERX Director David Brown to Board of Advisors

David BrownThe Wisconsin Security Research Consortium is pleased to announce the addition of David A. Brown to its Board of Advisors. Brown will consult on defense innovation pathways for researchers and growth industries in Wisconsin.

Brown is an innovation strategist and leader at the Wisconsin Air National Guard. He serves as the Director of ForwardWERX at the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) Office of Wisconsin Innovation and is an innovation policy advisor for the Air National Guard Innovation Hub, ARCWERX.

As the Director of ForwardWERX, Brown leads customer engagement processes and products as part of the Capabilities Integration Team. He directs interactions with planners and technical staff to identify user science and technology (S&T) needs, then leads cross-directorate teams to develop capability concepts and integrated investment roadmaps.

Brown facilitates the implementation of ForwardWERX, accelerating the Air Force 2030 S&T Strategy and assisting in the completion of key objectives defined under the Wisconsin National Guard (WING) Commander’s Intent. His expertise includes science and technology management, strategic planning, and innovation leadership.

“We are excited to leverage David’s expertise to help connect Wisconsin’s research and innovation ecosystem with Wisconsin National Guard, Air Force, and Army requirements,” said Dave Schroeder, WSRC Research Director and a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard. “Both UW–Madison and the Wisconsin National Guard have storied histories dating back to Wisconsin’s founding in 1848, and there is mutual benefit in working and learning together.”

The Wisconsin Security Research Consortium is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation affiliated with the University of Wisconsin–Madison that enhances Wisconsin’s position to attract and retain research and development grants from federal government agencies for the purpose of conducting sensitive academic and business research and related development work. This research contributes to the health, safety, and security of the people of Wisconsin and citizens of the United States, regardless of where they live.
